I read that some of the previous recommendations have not been that good, but for us this was a great hotel. The staff is very helpful and polite, and showed us different places to visit including a good restaurant (which we actually tried). There is a big parking garage with several spots. We knew we had to pay for the parking so we were already aware of that. 23 EUR pr day. Some will say this is expensive, but we would rather have the car parked safely than on the street and far away. The location is very good. Super close to everything. A nice park close by, and all the stores and restaurants within 7 minutes walking. Even a supermarket just on the other side of hotel for easy snacks and supplements. The staff helped us with our luggage to the room. We got an upgrade and got the room with a balcony. A really great room. We had good indoor environment, as we understood the A/C is centrally controlled, so it does work Yes, the hotel is old, but my opinion is that the staff tries to take the best care of it as possible. I also read some said they had bad shower pressure, well in our room the pressure was excellent and very strong! I would say it’s an old but antique hotel, quite unique.

This is a grand building in every sense of the word. It is a bit 'tired' and in need of updating in places. But the rooms are very good, huge beds and very good bathrooms. Bar snacks are very good and reasonably priced. The inner sitting area is very comfortable and is a very large space with a stunning glass panelled ceiling. Car parking on site for a charge but very secure and convenient. The price of this hotel makes it very good value and feel a bit special. it is located very close to the main shopping area of Oviedo and about a 10 min walk to the old town across the beautiful San Francisco park.

Interesting historical building and extremely warm and helpful staff. Parking garage was super convenient below the rooms (allowing direct access from rooms to parking) and had ample, large spaces. Staff gave us late checkout without hesitation, booked a lunch reservation and helped with exiting the parking. Unusually for Spain, a vigilant porter noticed us pulling up to the entrance, and took our bags directly to the room while we’re checking in. This was my first time staying at a Eurostars and I was impressed with their service and training. Would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

Superb, palatial hotel near the centre of Oviedo. The building almost has to be seen to be believed. Staff are superb. Parking is excellent, accessed down a side street, and spacious, with pedestrian access into the hotel. Location is near to the main shopping street with lots of cafes, and it's a short walk across the beautiful San Francisco park to the mediaeval centre of Oviedo, with its excellent museum of fine art, etc.

This hotel is an amazing step into history. The art, decor, and architecture!. Ask for a tour of the hotel when you check in. Wonderful staff and so proud of their hotel. It was a hospital and then an orphanage it has only been a hotel for 50 years. If you are looking a modern hotel pass this gem by. If you are interested in a beautiful place to stay that is also a work of art don't miss this!
